Process

Slitting and folding in eleven steps

The machine process has a modular structure and can be customized. Individual process steps can be flexibly left out or the order changed.

Closure orientation

Alignment of the closure with the opening facing upwards.
Metal detection

Testing for metallic impurities.
Upside-down closure detection

Detection and sorting incorrectly positioned closures.
Pinhole detection

Inspection for defects caused by the injection molding process.
Infeed star wheel

Closures are transferred to the slitting station.
Slitting station

Precise slitting to create the bridges between tamper-evident band and closure.
Integrated fold band inspection camera

Checking the folded band for defects.
Folding station

Folding the fold band inward.
Outfeed star wheel

Transfers the closures to the camera inspection area.
Camera inspection

Visual inspection of the closures, which are forwarded for further inspection according to pre-programmed criteria.
Inspection with capLAB

Testing the pull-off strength of the tamper-evident band and leak testing of selected closures.
